MALIN OSKAR WOW.jpg
SYNOPSIS

On an idyllic summer day, enjoyed with expensive wine in cheap plastic glasses, Malin and Oskar are confronted with

an unexpected dilemma. A single decision will change their lives forever.

THE DIRECTOR

Originally a professional dancer and choreographer, Michael’s passion for film began as a “plan B” but quickly took center stage. From filming dance classes, he quickly grew into directing music videos, commercials, and short films—while also assisting world-renowned directors such as Niklas Larson, Harmony Korine, and Tom Kuntz, thereby becoming a trusted and highly valued team player.4.

As a director, Michael offers a distinctive vision, seamlessly blending movement and emotion on screen. His eye for movement allows him to create a dynamic interplay between camera and choreography, transforming physicality into a powerful storytelling tool. Yet, as seen in Malin & Oskar and his other shorts, his creative range extends far beyond choreography.

He’s represented by B-Reel Films as a commercial director. In 2025, he wrapped four short films now on the festival circuit. In parallel, he’s developing a TV series and a feature with B-Reel’s
drama division.

Known for his social ease and warm presence, Michael brings energy and positivity both on and off set. And if you ever find yourself with him and a PC, be warned: he might just remind you why he was once a world-class, top-ranked

e-gamer.

DIRECTOR'S VISION

As a director, I love exploring “right” and “wrong.” Since everything comes down to perspective, that was something I wanted to examine more closely in this film. I wanted to see how, as the film unfolds, we can shift focus between the characters—letting Malin win an argument, only for Oskar to respond with his own perspective on the issue.

The goal of the film was not to take a clear stance, but to allow the audience to interpret it freely. I’m proud that, as a filmmaker, I managed to stay neutral and worked hard to ensure both characters have strong arguments that support their respective viewpoints. Balancing Oskar’s
perspective against Malin’s in a matter like this was a challenge, but I think the ending offers a deeper understanding of his behavior.

I want to guide the audience through the film in a way where they’re constantly learning new things about the characters. There are a few “aha” moments in the film, and it’s been incredibly rewarding to see how people have reacted when I’ve shown it to friends and colleagues.

THE PRODUCER

For Christine, filmmaking is as much about the people behind a project as it is

about the story itself. Over the past four years, she has produced both short and feature films, developing a collaborative approach rooted in trust, openness, and mutual respect.

Her experience includes work with production companies such as B-Reel Films and Pentagram Film, where she line produced the feature film From Darkness, which received three Guldbagge nominations. She is drawn to emotionally driven

projects with a strong director’s vision and international potential.
